We recognise the importance of parents being involved in their child’s education and we ensure that parents are regularly informed and updated on their child’s progress. Parents’ views on what we do well and how we could do even better are regularly canvassed. It is important that all pupils feel happy, healthy and secure at school and that parents and staff work together to achieve this.
All parents are asked to sign a Home School Agreement which will ask for your support in matters relating to attendance, punctuality, homework, uniform, work and behaviour. In return we will do all that we can to ensure your child is happy at school and achieves his or her full potential.
Additionally we strive to support parents by providing parent empowerment evenings on specific topics such as
internet safety, sex education and curriculum issues. Parenting workshops have also been facilitated at the school giving parents the opportunity to meet, share experiences and to be part of a supportive community. At the end of each academic year we organise a family day out where staff, students and families can share fun experiences and learning opportunities together. We also employ our own dedicated family support worker to assist parents and carers with family and social issues.
