Students are placed into learning groups within their key stage, either KS3 or KS4/5. Learning groups are made up of students of a similar learning ability to enable more focused lessons and activities to take place.

The school has also introduced a vertical tutoring structure. Each student belongs to a tutor group made up of students from across all the year groups. They will come together for tutor time for 30 minutes before break time and 15 minutes at the end of each day. Tutors will be responsible for all day to day issues, contact with parents, conducting annual and learning reviews and nurturing the academic and emotional needs of their students.

There is also a House system in place with each tutor group belonging to either the Oak, Sycamore or Horse-Chestnut House.
